One second. One moment. One hour. One day. To make someone’s life better, even if just for a little bit. That is all I wanted to do. People ask me why I do this, why I started this project. My answer is simple. I just want to make the tough moments in life, worth living through for someone else. There was no motive in it for me, no desire for fame or attention. I didn’t want to be the face of the organization for myself, but rather to advocate for the idea that anything is possible. No matter what a person goes through in life, light still conquers darkness.
There are many times in life when it seems like nothing is going right, and it feels like the weight of everything on your back will make you crumble. Sometimes all you need is a glimpse of hope. Whether that hope is a word of encouragement, an inspiring message, or even a person. Often times the most simple cure to any lost hope is the pure presence of someone else. Someone else to give you their hand in whatever way they have to offer, even if just to listen. Mostly, just someone who will be there for you when it feels like you are the only one left on the earth.
That is what this project was created for. To be the glimpse of light in a dark place, to lift others up when they feel like they can’t stand, to put a smile on someone’s face; to make a difference. The biggest blessings aren’t always the grandiose ideas, outstanding performances, or most expensive gifts. Instead, some of the biggest blessings are the smallest gestures, fewest words, but the most genuine; all because they came from the heart.
If you do one thing in this crazy thing called life, make a difference. Whatever that difference is, it may not be the biggest one in your eyes. However, for someone else that could be what changes their life. The simplest act, can leave the biggest impact. If you’re lucky, the difference you made for someone else, might just make a difference in you too. Whether you are three or ninety three, and anywhere in between; it is never too late to make a difference.
